Hackney Walk is a novelty in London outlet scene. My earlier posts from London already mentioned the place, yet here I am with some more details.
The concept is quite special: something along the lines of Outlet Village, though not exactly with that many brands but – refreshingly- relatively close to the City center. This is why it is quite an interesting place to visit, especially if you combine it with Burberry Outlet, located literally next door to Hackney Walk.
The place is very much work in progress as the new stores are in-the-making. The outlet village already opened doors to quite a few already, most notably:
Aquascutum: pretty much in front of Burberry outlet. Quite a large (and unappealing) store though with a decent selection. Coats discounted from 825 to 330 GBP.
Pringle of Scotland: although the store seems to occupy an entire building floor, seems way smaller from inside. A basic sweater would cost around 99 GBP, though with a special promotion you may snatch 2 for 150 GBP.
Anya Hindmarch: more of a boutique than an outlet store, which is quite refreshing in that neighbourhood. I even got slightly intimidated to look for the prices, as was pretty much alone in the store. Prices seem to be around 50% off their original retail price, but would still cost you 196 GBP for a sweatshirt or 160 GBP for the shoes.
Zadig & Voltaire: with average selection of items and regular outlet prices- though still quite high for my liking.
Mathesfashion.com: nice selection and discounted from original mega high price, but not for my wallet (pretty much everything is in the range of 300 GBP and above). I even found Melania´s (Trump) Roksanda Ilincic dress in pink- the one with special sleeves- for 358 GBP. Some fancy Balenciaga would cost around 300 GBP. Starting saving:)
UGG: almost got me seduced into buying a pair. Not the trendiest of the UGG´s models, but you may find something for your taste (if your taste tolerates UGGs at all! ;). You may get a pair for 80- 90 GBP. Most would cost you more than 100 GBP though.
Do I recommend the place- yes, as its close to Burberry Outlet, not too far from the city center, brands selection is decent (and growing).
Where: along Morning Lane in Hackney, E9 6LH, London, UK.
Check out my post “London Calling” on the detailed instructions how to get there.
